Kira, this one's for you...

I woke up this morning in sort of a dark and dreary mood. Now I know why.

The weather outside is dark and dreary... pretty damn dismal too. I just checked a weather report, there's a big system moving in around Kansas and Nebraska that will hit Iowa right along with it. Funny thing is though, usually when Eastern Nebraska gets hit, so do we. The winds are high, the rain is pummeling down and every now and then my computer screen flickers with the threat of complete shut-down. We've already lost power once while I was sleeping, I don't doubt that it would happen again.

Don't get me wrong, I love thunderstorms, but should a tornado arise like the professionals are predicting, I will admit that I'm scared shitless. I'm alone out here and the only safe place I can go in a situation like this is down to the basement, the basement that literally makes me sick (so much dust and crap, I start wheezing and coughing).

Should be interesting in any case, I just hope my cats outside are okay.
