being self-employed and loving it

monkey
We finally opened up the web store about a month ago and I have to say that I absolutely love being a self-employed homebody! I love being able to say that I play games for a living and in all reality, I'm learning a lot as I go. Mostly though, I love working at home and having the flexibility to ask my boss for time off during the day to go to a doctor appointment or go grocery shopping and get the time off. For the record, my boss is a real bitch sometimes! haha

It really is great though and I'm anxious to start demoing and testing games soon.

Maya turned 1 about a month ago. She's getting so big and so cute...

my life... is far from boring

I finally quit that hell-hole of a job, sadly not soon enough. Nothing though could have stopped the horrible treatment I got my final two weeks. Oh well, it's over and done with and I'm much happier now.

Speaking of happier.... I've lost 30 pounds to date. Still got a little bit to go, but soon I'll be a skinny bitch. For now I'm just a bitch. *haha*

The Christmas decor is up and I'm officially done with my part of the shopping, now it's just Jason's family we have left to take care of.

Just spent a week with my beautiful neice and mom. I'm glad to be home though, there truly is no place like home.

Gotta go get dressed so I can go grocery shopping. It may be cold as hell outside, but at least the sun is shinning.

i'm not dead... yet

Topsy Turvy...

I have a sneaking suspiscion that my life is about to be turned upside-down again. Or rather, I pray it will be.

More later when I know something concrete, but if it happens, let's just say that I will be a content and broke little monkey. :)

1 week into it...

...And I'm utterly exhausted. I know I know, it'll simply take time getting used to working again and getting up at 6:30am every morning. It's not like my job is uber-difficult or straining, not at all actually unless you count the sometimes 3 hours it takes per day to open up mail. That just sucks on Mondays. Otherwise things are going well. I"ve been told several times that I'm doing a good job and picking things up really quickly. I FINALLY got my userID and stuff for the system, so now I can properly log in and get my time sheet up to par. The resident tech also (finally) hooked up my phone today, so now I've got that. I've got my own extension and everything, though it's a California # I think... Weird. Also found out after so long (6 months I think) of working there, I get benies! Hot damn baby!

So, things are finally looking up, and in about a month or so I can start paying my bills again and helping out with communal bills (water and elec.). I'm a lot less stressed now, it's nice.

Here's one of the latest pictures I have of Maya... She's certainly growing quickly and soon she'll be able to wear the ISU outfit Jason and I bought her!

It's about damn time...

I just got a call about 20 ago minutes from Valerie, the woman I interviewed with on Wednesday for an accounts payable position with MV Transportation. ... Long story short, she offered me the job! So yay, I finally have a job now, I start on Tuesday, and to boot it's in a new part of the building with new furniture and all that stuff. On the downside, it's in Elk Horn which is about 15 minutes from the house, but it could be worse, I could work in Atlantic, which is a 30ish minute drive.

So now we can really start saving up for a house, though it'll be a little while yet.

Political Mind Games

EnjoyResponsibly
Well, looks as though I'm starting the political game a bit earlier than intended. Jason and I decided a few weeks ago that I should try running for Shelby County Recorder, come to find out though that I had missed the primaries deadline for getting on the ballot. No problems, I was just going to have to fill out some paperwork and get a 100-signature petition then in early July to get on the November ballot. Well, we found out this morning that if I were to get so many write-in votes in the primary that's coming up here next Tuesday, then I will be on the ballot.

So, now the campaigning begins!

Time to exercise the political side of Jessa... should be interesting.

Well, I can finally stop putting the iPod on my Christmas list.

For whatever reason, Jason was given an iPod Video when he went out to Chicago about a week and a half ago. He was there for work, for the NEC conference/convention/whatever (they make monitors and other such stuff), and one of the things he got, don't ask me why, was an iPod. I'm not knocking it cuz I've wanted an iPod for awhile, and it came in handy when we went up to Minnesota and Wisconsin last weekend. :)

So in other news, I took two of our female cats (Coal and Cinder) to the vet about a week and a half ago to get them fixed, afterall we only need 4 farm cats. Come to find out, Coal was prego. The vet guestimated she was about 2-3 weeks along with about 4-6 to go. WRONG-O BUDDY! We went looking in the barn tonight and found at least two kittens that have to be at least a week old. So, we figure Coal had her kittens roughly 2-4 days after seeing the vet. They're gonna laugh so hard tomorrow when I take Cinder in to get her stitches/staples out. And now Haze is HUGE, so she's obviously prego and probably about ready to pop too. Problem is, Haze is only 7 months old and not very big, so we're worried she'll miscarry or possibly die as a result. Sad news. We don't need the extra kittens, but I don't want Haze to get hurt either.

And for those who are keeping track, I've still got mono and still feel like shit. But I got to see my niece Maya and Jason's family last weekend (long-ass drive) so I'm still having some fun. We spent two days camping in Wisconsin because it was Jill's birthday (Jason's mom) and then had Maya's dedication at church.
